Down an empty freeway at the hour the road belongs to you.

Up or W holds the throttle, down or S brakes, and the left and right arrows or A and D steer. On a phone, hold the left or right of the screen to steer that way and the throttle stays open while you do. P pauses.

How it plays

One road, looped, with three lanes and traffic that is slower than you are. Two points for every hundred metres on the tarmac and one for every hundred on the dirt, so the shoulder is a place to survive rather than a place to drive. The speedometer tops out at a hundred and forty, which the road will not always let you keep.

Clip a car and you spin. The throttle and the steering go away for about a second and you come out of it at a crawl. There are three cars in an evening, and the chevrons at the bottom left are what is left of them. Coming off the road does not end anything, it just holds you near a third of top speed until you get back on, and the curve at the top of the hill is where that usually happens.

A curve pushes you to the outside harder the faster you take it. Full lock will always beat it, but on the hard bends it is most of what your steering is doing, so the line into a corner matters more than the throttle through it.
